Additionally, it manages the African Union&#39;s (AU) initiatives focused on promoting, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring programs and policies related to infrastructure development, transport, energy resources, information and communications technology (ICT), as well as postal services and tourism at both regional and continental levels.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>DIE also facilitates private sector initiatives on infrastructure development and advocating among development partners for programme implementation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The department is in charge of the following key&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/agenda2063\">Agenda 2063<\/a>&nbsp;projects: the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/saatm\">Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM)<\/a>, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/flagships\/pan-african-e-network\">Pan African e-Network (PAeN)<\/a>, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/flagships\/integrated-high-speed-train-network\">Integrated High Train Network<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/flagships\/grand-inga-dam-project\">Grand Inga Dam<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/flagships\/cyber-security\">Cyber Security<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>DIE oversees the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), and its strategic framework, the Institutional Architecture for Infrastructure Development in Africa (IAIDA).<\/p>","type_id":"1","image":"\/image\/20240216210630.png","created_at":"2024-02-16T21:06:30.000000Z","updated_at":"2024-02-16T21:06:30.000000Z","organisation_id":"109","banner":"\/image\/20240216210628.png","slug":"ie","phase":"[\"Agenda Setting\",\"Drafting\",\"Decision-Making\",\"Implementation\",\"Sense-Making\"]","social":null}
