About the Conference
The conference, co-hosted by H.E. President Azali Assoumani of the Union of the Comoros and current Chairperson of the African Union, and H.E. President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa, is an essential component of the AU High-Level Presidential Initiative on Positive Masculinity in Leadership to End Violence Against Women and Girls in Africa. The conference will be country-led, inclusive, youth-inspired, and build on existing efforts. It will focus on: (i) reflecting on progress on the implementation of the outcomes of the first and second Men’s Conferences; (ii) tabling the recommendations of the multi-stakeholder consultation for the content of a draft AU EVAWG Convention; (iii) considering key messages on positive masculinity (iv) sharing evidence- based African interventions to prevent EVAWG
